The University of South Florida’s new Department of Medical Engineering is a joint department between the College of Engineering and the Morsani College of Medicine. This unique structure helps facilitate research and academic interactions between BME students, engineers, medical school researchers and physicians, to pursue joint clinical translational research projects and didactic engineering learning experiences. We serve over 250 students in our undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Biomedical Engineering. Our department has an active core of research faculty with a number of NIH R01 and P01 grants in areas such as aging, development, neuroengineering, molecular medicine, drug discovery, drug and gene therapy delivery, novel biomedical imaging techniques for theranostics and brain mapping. In addition, we currently have 9 faculty openings and an active search for Assistant, Associate and Full Professor tenured/tenure track positions. It is an exciting time to join our growing department!
