Session Title for Website and App: Engineering Your Entrepreneurial Mindset: Sharing Perspectives from Academic and Industry BME Professionals

Special Session Program Description: The importance of an entrepreneurial mindset has been widely recognized in engineering education for benefiting students' ability to innovate, design for a customer, and communicate with broad audiences. What does an entrepreneurial mindset look like for biomedical engineers who are already well-recognized for many of the same traits? Do we share an understanding of what it means to have an entrepreneurial mindset across BME professional contexts? This session aims to answer these questions and many more related to an entrepreneurial mindset in BME. We will host a panel of individuals from industry and academia to facilitate panel and whole-group discussions on what it means to approach problems with an entrepreneurial mindset as BME professionals. If you have entrepreneurial perspectives to share, join us in the discussion! Insights from this session are anticipated to be shared as a white paper or manuscript after the conference.
