Ph.D. Student
Carnegie Mellon University
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States
Caner started his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in 2020 as a Fulbright Ph.D. Grantee. He received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering (2018) with High Honors from Izmir Katip Celebi University. During his undergraduate, he performed experiments on the antimicrobial effect of cold atmospheric plasma and plasma-treated biomaterials under the supervision of Dr. Utku Ercan. By taking part in the Erasmus+ traineeship program, he continued his studies on plasma medicine in INP Greifswald, Germany. He changed the gears towards tissue engineering during his M.S. in Materials Science and Nano Engineering (2020) from Sabanci University, where he conducted research on the development of embedded multimaterial bioprinting platform for the biofabrication of vascular tissues under the supervision of Dr. Bahattin Koc. Caner joined the Regenerative Biomaterials and Therapeutics Group under the direction of Professor Adam Feinberg and is currently working on the development of a novel embedded bioprinting technique.
