Melissa Banks is a PhD candidate and research assistant in the department of biomedical engineering at the University of Southern California. She holds a B.S. with distinction in Biomedical Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. with distinction in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California, as well as a B.S. with distinction in Dietetics with an emphasis in nutritional biochemistry from the University of Kentucky. Her research centers around women's health and the design of improved point of care diagnostic devices for low-resource settings.
