Associate Professor
University of Texas at Dallas; University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Texas, United States
Dr. Kristin S. Miller is an associate professor of bioengineering at The University of Texas at Dallas. She is the first engineering faculty member to hold a joint appointment in mechanical engineering and bioengineering.
Before joining UT Dallas, Miller was an associate professor of biomedical engineering at Tulane University. Her research interest focuses on the mechanobiology of soft tissues, including evaluating the role of elastic fibers and contractility in the female reproductive system.
Miller received her PhD in bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2018, she was awarded the NSF CAREER award for developing a biomechanical model that can predict how elastic fibers in the soft tissues of the female reproductive system change in response to mechanical pressure. In 2021, Miller was awarded the YC Fung Early Career Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
