Jiazhu Xu is a Ph.D. candidate (BME) in the Bioengineering Department at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). He achieved his Master's degree in Biochemical Engineering in 2015 at East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China. And then he joined Dr. Yi Hong's group in the UTA as a Ph.D. student in 2019. His research focuses on developing functional and bioactive biodegradable soft materials and translational research for tissue repair and regeneration with an emphasis on cardiovascular disease treatment. Specifically, an injectable conductive decellularized cardiac ECM hydrogel was designed for the treatment of myocardial infarction (MI).
