Sara Aboeleneen is a Ph.D. Candidate in Biomedical Engineering in Dr. Emily Day’s lab at the University of Delaware, working on improving the targeting of silica-core gold shell nanoshells to triple-negative breast cancer for dual photothermal therapy and photoacoustic imaging. She obtained her Masters degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Delaware and her Bachelors degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Tennessee. Sara is a recipient of the prestigious Tau Beta Pi Graduate Fellowship as well as the Doctoral Fellowship for Excellence from the Graduate College at the University of Delaware along with other awards that recognize her service, outreach, and advocacy efforts from the Biomedical Engineering Department and the College of Engineering at the University of Delaware.
