Dr. Gyeo-Re Han is a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Aydogan Ozcan's research group at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UCLA. Before joining UCLA, he earned his B.S. in 2012 and M.S. in 2014, both in Biomedical Engineering from Gachon University, Republic of Korea. He completed his Ph.D. in the Department of Chemistry at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in 2020. His research focuses on biosensors, high-performance point-of-care testing, paper-based diagnostics, digital health, micro/nanotechnology, and applying machine learning to biosensing. He has co-authored 16 scientific publications and is an inventor on 7 patents that have been successfully transferred to the biosensing industry in the Republic of Korea. He was appointed as a principal investigator for the "Nurturing Next-Generation Researchers (2021-2024)" postdoctoral fellowship program, supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea. He is also a two-time recipient of the PATHS-UP Seed Fund Award for the years 2021-22 and 2022-23, granted by the PATHS-UP Engineering Research Center funded by NSF. He is committed to advancing biosensing research, aiming to bring quality diagnostic tests to underserved communities and improve global health.
