I am a 3rd year Ph.D. candidate at UMass Amherst who is interested in the intersection of tissue engineering and ECM-based biomaterials. I have been awarded a Dean’s First Year Fellowship, UMass Spaulding-Smith Fellowship, and the NSF GRFP. Previously, I was responsible for isolating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from various iPSC-derived cells as an industry researcher and investigated their protein markers and regenerative effects in ocular and vascular diseases. While my thesis research focuses primarily on engineered matrices for skin wound healing, in my long-term career, I am interested in utilizing matrix signaling to investigate treatments in women’s reproductive health and investigate age-related changes in intercellular signaling.
