Simon Morris is a Clemson native who received his
bachelor's in criminal justice from Clemson University.
Simon worked in Clemson University’s Office of
Compliance and Ethics during his undergraduate
education, and began working at the REDDI Lab in August
2020. He started as an undergraduate laboratory
technician and was promoted to an Undergraduate
Supervisor. He began his current Administrative and
Compliance Coordinator position in May of 2022. In this
position, Simon performs all administrative and
compliance tasks, coordinates regularly between the
REDDI Lab and other internal and external partners, helps
to maintain research facilities, coordinates IRBs, maintains
patient consent forms and instrument procurement, and
maintains lab-related paperwork. In addition to those
responsibilities, he is in charge of ordering maintenance
on instrumentation, performing proficiency exams, and
participating in development planning, including
acquisition and validations of new assays. Simon regularly
communicates with DHEC to coordinate lab certifications
and inspections. Additionally, he teaches a course on
clinical laboratory management and compliance at
Clemson University.
