I'm an experienced research assistant with a passion for interdisciplinary studies focusing on cognition and neural interfaces. As a 3rd year PNP (Psychology, Neuroscience, and Philosophy) and Computer science double major, I have acquired a number of skills to pursue this passion.
My research experience, thus far, has focused on running participants through cognitive assessment tasks and behavioral surveys. Additionally, I have used programs such as R to run ANOVA tests on the correlation between depressive and negative symptoms and cognitive deficits in subject populations with schizophrenia and/or depression. I then presented my findings to a conference of undergraduates and their respective labs. As such, I have experience with subject interaction, the administration of drug tests, data collection, data analysis, data modeling, data presentation, and public speaking. Additionally, I will soon begin work in a lab attempting to simulate sensory stimulation in a rodent model via regenerative macro-sieve electrodes for future use in neuroprosthetics.
Through my course work, I have also learned a variety of useful skills such as experimental design and ethics, the programming languages Java and C, as well as multiple forms of statistical analysis.
Currently, I am looking for a summer job or internship in my area of interest. I am open to both traveling and researching a variety of different subject matters. As I am always looking to expand my horizons both in research and life.
