I am a fifth-year NSF GRFP Fellow and Bioengineering PhD candidate at Rice University, working under the guidance of Dr. Jeffrey Hartgerink. My research focuses on pioneering the use of self-assembling peptide hydrogels as a new class of 3D printing inks. I am currently developing novel fabrication strategies to create peptide hydrogel scaffolds that replicate the architecture of aligned tissues, with the goal of contributing to breakthroughs in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Prior to my doctoral studies, I spent two years teaching 7th grade math in Kent, Washington as part of Teach for America and I am passionate about leading transformational change for a better world.
