As a Ph.D. candidate, I am now working with Dr. Lipke's research group at Auburn University in the subject of cardiac tissue engineering. My efforts aim to examine how initial stem cell hydrogel encapsulation affects human heart development and the functioning of the resulting cardiac tissue. I am also an AHA predoctoral fellow focusing on the development of an 3D diabetic cardiomyopathy model.
