Dr. Jinho Kim is an Assistant Professor of the Biomedical Engineering Department at Stevens Institute of Technology. Since his arrival at Stevens in 2018, he has been leading the Translational Lung Bioengineering Laboratory, which is dedicated to developing bioengineering solutions for diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases, especially those affecting the respiratory system. His research team employs a multidisciplinary approach, integrating tissue-on-a-chip, biosensing, biomechanics, and bioimaging technologies. Dr. Kim completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2013 and undertook Postdoctoral training in Biomedical Engineering until 2018, both at Columbia University. With a strong foundation in engineering, he incorporates advanced engineering technologies, including tissue-on-a-chip, biosensing, biomechanics, and bioimaging in his research. His contributions to the field have earned him prestigious recognitions, including the NSF CAREER Award in 2022 and the Best Abstract Award at the 2019 American Thoracic Society International Conference. His research has been supported by several funding agencies, including NIH, NSF, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Thoracic Society, and New Jersey Health Foundation.
