Arafat Fasuyi is a doctoral bioengineering student whose work is focused on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine using bioprinting technologies.
She graduated with her bachelor's degree in bioengineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Here, she worked on engineering stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles for their therapeutic purpose under the guidance of Dr. Steven Jay. Afterward, she went on to work as an R&D scientist for Thermo Fisher Scientific as a cell biologist, where she gained valuable industry experience.
Currently, she is a doctoral student in the Stevens lab led by Dr. Kelly Stevens at the University of Washington, Seattle. Arafat Fasuyi aims to create artificial liver tissues for therapeutic and regenerative purposes by using bioprinting technologies.
