Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa, M.D. is the William~J. and Charles~H. Mayo Professor, the Monica Flynn Jacoby Endowed Chair of Neurosurgery and the James~C. and Sarah~K.~Kennedy Dean of Research at the Mayo Clinic Florida. He leads the Brain Tumor Stem Cell Laboratory, an NIH-funded laboratory devoted to furthering our collective understanding of malignant brain tumors. Dr.~Quinones has led multiple multi-institutional federal grants, clinical trials and holds multiple patents for new medical devices. His research focuses on leveraging the operating room as his laboratory and to study brain tumors from a clinical, surgical and basic perspective aimed at translational impact to improve patient outcomes.
