Anupam Kumar is a Ph.D. Candidate in the department of Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University. His technical skills are the intersection of electronics development, software development, and industrial design. He brings his various skillsets to conceptualize and realize products in the medical space. During his PhD career, he has also interned at Facebook (Now Meta) Reality Labs.
Prior to this, he attended The University of Texas at Dallas as a Eugene McDermott Scholar, and completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering. He is passionate about designing easy-to-use and affordable technologies for low-resource settings and aims to pursue future work at the intersections of research and commercialization.
His past research experiences have spanned point-of-care biosensors, focused ultrasound therapy, microbiology, implantable neural stimulation, and medical image analysis. His current research interests involve designing device and computer-vision based solutions for low-cost neuroimaging in naturalistic environments.
