Ni Su biography:
I earned my Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Peking University and Georgia Institute of Technology. I'm a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University currently. My research mainly focuses on designing immune-modulatory biomaterials to enhance tissue regeneration for skin wounds and bone defects. I've recently developed stem cell-mimicking hydrogels that modulate macrophage and T cell populations, leading to complete bone regeneration in critical-sized cranial bone defects. To understand the immune cell-stem cell crosstalk, I developed in vitro 3D models with tunable inputs to uncover the mechanisms involved in bone diseases associated with aging.
