My expertise is in cardiovascular biomaterial responses, endothelial cells, and large animal thrombosis models. The majority of my work has been in the field of biomaterials and, more specifically, surface biological interactions of artificial biomaterials. Most recently this work has focused on cardiovascular applications, including stents, valves, and vascular grafts. This work has included material characterization, cell interaction experiments, and understanding of the blood-material interface through whole, flowing blood in a large animal model.
