I am a 5th year PhD candidate co-advised by Dr. Megan McCain and Dr. Leonardo Morsut. My research in the field of tissue engineering is focused on using synthetic biology with micropatterning to spatially control gene expression and tissue differentiation. The goal is to create a novel technique for generating in-vitro tissues with increased user control, allowing researchers to create tissues with architecture that is more comparable to native in-vivo tissues. This would help aid in the areas of regenerative medicine, disease modeling, and drug screening.
