Session Title for Website and App: Finding a biomedical engineering postdoctoral training position in the NIH Intramural Research Program
Special Session Program Description: If you are a graduate student finishing your PhD and looking to further develop your research skills while exploring research and research-related careers, then please consider a postdoctoral training opportunity at the NIH! These are full-time research positions in one of the NIH Institutes and Centers (IC) in the NIH Intramural Research Program. Research groups are located on all NIH campuses, including the main campus in Bethesda, MD. Recent doctoral recipients with experience in biology, engineering, epidemiology, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, nursing, physics, computer science, bioinformatics, and other health-related fields are invited to apply. Postdocs at the NIH come from across the U.S. and around the world. Support for international postdocs is provided by the NIH Division of International Services. In addition to an intensive research experience, our postdocs have access to: professional development programs focused on core competencies needed for success in research and healthcare careers, educational and career advising, a comprehensive well-being and resilience program. This panel discussion will provide information about applying for a postdoc position at NIH, life as a postdoc at NIH, opportunities to connect with current PIs looking for engineering postdocs, and a chance to hear from current postdocs at NIH about their experience.
