Sarah Jimenez is a first-year bioengineering graduate student at Rice University. She graduated with a BS in Biological Engineering at Louisiana State University in Fall 2022. Her various accomplishments during her academic journey include one scientific publication, 4 conference presentations with travel awards, several scholarships and academic awards, a NIH T34 Training Grant, a broad repertoire of technical, laboratory, engineering and soft skills, her involvement on mentorship programs on campus and extracurricular activities. She spent her 2022 summer at Rice University for an REU, and after graduation, she worked at Pennington Biomedical, a clinical trial facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After that, she started her PhD at Rice University in Houston and works at Texas Heart Institute as a graduate assistant under the guidance of Dr. Camila Hochman-Mendez and Dr. Jane Grande-Allen.
