Dr. David Peeler is a nanobiomaterials engineer working on drug delivery formulations for innate immunoengineering as a Marie Skłodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellow in the labs of Profs. Molly Stevens and Robin Shattock at Imperial College London and the University of Oxford. He received his PhD in Bioengineering with Prof. Suzie Pun at the University of Washington after developing extracellularly targeted and intracellularly responsive polymers for nucleic acid and peptide vaccine delivery. His research combines polymer chemistry, advanced nanoparticle structural characterization, and immunological techniques to understand and engineer vaccines and immunotherapies. In particular, he is most interested in how RNA nanoparticle biodistribution and intracellular interactions impact innate immune reactions to engineered materials.
