Michelle Huang is a Chemical Engineering Ph.D. Student in Prof. Sarah Heilshorn's Lab at Stanford University. Her research lies at the intersection of neurobiology and materials science to create better in vitro models of brain organogenesis for studying disease and development. Currently, Michelle is interested in understanding how matrix-derived biochemical and biomechanical cues influence neural tissue morphogenesis and neural differentiation. Michelle has received the NSF GRFP, NIH F31 Pre-doctoral Fellowship, and the Stanford Lieberman Fellowship. She is also a trainee in the Sarafan ChEM-H Chemistry-Biology Interface training program at Stanford.
