PhD Candidate
University of Delaware, United States
Olivia Bailey, MS, is a third year PhD student in the biomedical engineering department at the University of Delaware working under Dr. Curtis Johnson in the Mechanical Neuroimaging Lab. She previously attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where she graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering. Her work couples magnetic resonance elastography (MRE), a technique to able to noninvasively estimate the mechanical properties of soft tissues, with incremental compression to measure the nonlinear properties of bovine brain tissue. This work aims to supplement current traumatic brain injury computational models by characterizing brain tissue properties at expected TBI-inducing conditions.
