Molly Bagchee is currently ranked highest in her sophomore [Year 10] class at Seminole High
School and has been involved in research in the field of aerogel and nanoparticle applications in
improving the efficacy of biomedical devices. She has been the gold medal winner three years in
a row in the regional science fair competitions and awards at the state science fair in the field of
microbiological and biomedical research. She is passionate about scientific research and has
established a Project Science Club that educates, trains, and promotes other students into
participating in research and competitive challenges, with commendable success. Her latest
passion is in developing high efficiency hemostatic devices and medical prosthetics that leverage
the latest findings in nanoparticle infused aerogels, that are low-cost, easy to manufacture, yet
highly effective improvements on existing biomedical techniques and devices.
